Every Woman Can

We all have that person who believed in us. The one that inspired us and pushed us to the next level, or gave us the confidence to try, or speak up. When that person is a woman, we realize the important role each of us plays in supporting other women.

That’s the idea behind Every Woman Can. It happened during an interview with Fran Katsoudas, the Chief People Officer at Cisco Systems. Fran told us about the way her life changed because an older female colleague consistently asked for her opinion during meetings. That, ‘being seen’ made an impression on her. As act of generosity and acknowledgement that continues to inform Fran’s work every day.
That simple, sincere anecdote let to a new project idea: was there a woman that was there for you and how are you supporting the women in your own life. You can see that video on this page.

Shortly after we began the project, we were asked to partner with the nonprofit, Let Her Speak, to produce a series of videos under the name Every Woman Can for Women’s History Month. The project was provided free of charge and the 10 interviews aired on 91.9 WUOTFM in March , 2022, and Let Her Speak used the videos to honor women in their annual celebration. 

We had planned to continue the series, but later that summer, the Supreme Court handed down a decision that affected all women. The issue of rights became the inspiration for our next project Every Woman’s Right.

The EWC series will continue sometime in the future.
